McGettigan’s are excited to present Irish folk singer Mary Black live at Souk Madinat Jumeirah Amphitheatre (next to McGettigan’s Souk Madinat Jumeirah) on Friday November 25. The show starts at 9pm and the gig is open to all and free to attend. For the last quarter-century, singer Mary Black has been a dominant presence in Irish music, both at home and abroad. She has shared stages, TV shows and recording studios with some of the most revered performers of her time and is known for her hit songs ‘Only A Woman’s heart,’ ‘Sonny’ and ‘Song for Ireland’. She’s is also mum to Irish rocker Danny O’ Reilly from The Coronas and folk singer Roisin O. Mary Black also played a frontline role in bringing Irish music, past and present, to an increasingly appreciative and ever-growing global audience. The San Francisco Chronicle has described her as, “One of the best interpretative singers around.” This will be Mary’s first performance at Souk Madinat Jumeirah Amphitheatre in Dubai but has previously performed at McGettigan’s JLT on several occasions. Presented by McGettigan’s, fans can head down early to McGettigan’s Souk Madinat Jumeirah and avail of Dhs29 Happy Hour house drinks until 8pm. Those looking to start the party earlier, can head to The Long Lunch brunch from 12noon until 5pm and enjoy a delicious leisurely three course lunch and five selected drinks including bubbles, premium draught, grape and spirits for just AED279. McGettigan’s Souk Madinat Jumeirah enjoys a prime location next to the amphitheatre with postcard perfect views of the Burj Al Arab and souk waterways – with outdoor seating providing excellent views. It is easily accessible from the main entrance of Souk Madinat Jumeirah close to the taxi drop-off point and car park. Guests can simply enter McGettigan’s and the amphitheatre via a staircase next to Pacha Ibiza Dubai, which leads down onto the waterway and outdoor terrace area of the Irish bar. There will be additional pop-up McGettigan’s bars dotted around the amphitheatre for guests to purchases drinks during the live gig.
